HISTORY TRIP ITINERARY
TRIP HIGHLIGHTS
Spend time in the villages, meeting and mingling with local people, community leaders and school children.
Learning about the
past and present Ghana way of life by participating in traditional meals, activities and ceremonies.
Visit famous sites in Greater Accra, including the National Culture Center.
Enter
the corridors and dungeons of slave-trade era castles. Learn about the
tragic history of the Atlantic Slave Trade and how UNESCO has worked to
preserve these sites.
Organize, develop, and complete a community service project at the local school in our host village of Kokrobite.
Visit natural and historic sites. Traverse one of the few rainforest canopy walks in the world at Kakum National Park!
Shop for trade beads, shea and cocoa butters, fruits and more in the bustling open-air markets.
Learn to play local games with the village children
Visit schools of all levels in several different villages and in the capital city.
Visit an orphanage in the city. Tour a farm in the country.
Attend cultural drum and dance performances and a traditional ceremony.
Learn traditional crafts, the local Ga language and a little local history.
