MO LE MO - LIVE YOUR WORLD!
‘Mo le mo’ is a phrase from the language of the Ga people of Accra meaning “person to person knowing each other.”

Molemo Ghana Tours trips bring American and Ghanaian youth together for a shared experience of culture and friendship- person to person, learning and knowing each other.

All of our tours, designed especially for younger travelers, are educational, loaded with fun and adventure, include an authentic community building and community service component as well as unique experiences of African life and community. We offer trips that build friendships and change lives.

F.A.Q. ABOUT THE TRIPS!

What does the trip fee include?
The trip fee includes room, board, bottled water, site entrance fees, all group activities, ground transportation in Ghana.

We have worked hard to keep trip fees low yet still provide the authentic and unique immersion travel experience described here. The major costs contributing to the fee include bus travel to fascinating destinations and providing you with an authentic homestay experience.

Where do we stay?

This is no ordinary hotel trip! You will be lodged in a family home in Kokrobite, Ghana. The home is representative of an upper middle class Ghanaian family home. For security the home compound is walled and gated. You will come and go with the group and the compound has 24 hour watchmen. You will share a bedroom with another trip participant.

What will we eat and drink?
You will enjoy three home cooked meals made fresh each day in the traditional style by members of our host family! Enjoy "fufu" or "banku" or rice ( omo) with one of the traditional stews or soups, fried fish or "red-red", a famously delicious preparation of beans and tomatoes!

Your food will be fresh, clean and safe to eat, but best of all...DELICIOUS!

Each trip participant will also be provided with clean, bottled water for the duration of the trip. The water will always be available in full cases at the home. It will be up to the participant to pack and carry water with them for day trips.

How will we clean our clothes?
Laundry in Ghana is done by hand! You will be treated to an interactive demonstration on how to do your wash "Ghana-style"...after that, we have employed people to be ready to do it for you every week.

Is Ghana safe?
Yes. Molemo is dedicated to the health and safety of trip participants. We have developed operating procedures, policies and rules to keep you safe. Ghana is not a war-torn nation and is not currently experiencing any widespread violence or rebellion. However, as with travel to any foreign country, as a non-native tourist you are vulnerable in some ways.
Also, due to the tropical environment and the developing nature of the country, there is potential for illness and petty crime. We believe that we have a safe and organized trip planned for you. To do your part you must follow all of the Molemo Ghana Tours policies and rules. This means no going out alone, no eating street-food or drinking suspect water among other things. We will ensure that all participants are informed of any major and predictable hazards and that all trip participants know how to conduct themselves to stay safe and healthy.
